Ibrahim Maalouf and The Montreux Jazz Festival Artists Foundation become ambassadors for Ircam amplify's music spatialization tool.

This unique and revolutionary software solution makes it possible to spatiali z e a stereo master in a matter of seconds, while ensuring that the artistic integrity is respected and the sound quality is exceptional. This technological feat is powered by AI. It represents a real revolution, with a process that complements custom studio production. This tool simplifies access to the new immersive formats, while enabling producers to manually re-work the spatialized track in the studio if they feel the need.

Last April, Ircam amplify launched a beta version of this innovative and unique solution aimed at distributors and labels who want to offer their producers and artists an accessible, high-quality spatialization solution!

In the wake of the enthusiastic response from distributors and labels such as Believe, TuneCore and Cherry Red, Ircam amplify is launching its ambassadors programme with a clear objective: to support transformation and innovation in the music industry, and to champion the mainstreaming of spatialization without compromising on quality!

This tool offers an output of incredible quality and precision. It can’t, of course, replace the work of a sound engineer, but it offers an extremely interesting alternative, particularly for editing historical and iconic pieces in immersive sound, which takes on a whole new dimension. I’m very pleased to have been able to test this tool, which will prove invaluable in many aspects of my work. I believe it will encourage the emergence of a new generation of artists, for whom immersive sound is finally becoming accessible, without compromising on quality.

As for the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation, thanks to their arrangement with Ircam amplify, eight young talents selected to take part in the Montreux Jazz Residency (4-7 October 2023) will have the opportunity to spatialize their compositions.

This is a major technological breakthrough, and we’re delighted to be able to offer it to our young artists. Immersive sound offers an extraordinary listening experience, and the fact that it is becoming technically and financially accessible is excellent news for the world of music creation. For us, who encourage the creativity and emergence of young artists, this tool represents a major step forward.”

Viviane Rychner Raouf, Secretary General of the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation
