Action cameras make it possible for extreme sports enthusiasts to share their experiences using video. Without the right soundtrack perfectly synchronized to the image, these videos would probably lack their viral potential.

Some video editing software offer users the option of automatically synchronizing the audio to the images to ensure that the music and video highlights coincide.

These software programs rely on IRCAM’s Beat Detector technology, derived from the SuperVP (Phase Vocoder) engine, which can accurately detect the tempo and upbeats of selected tracks.
